    Night Lava Flow

    Photo taken from boat at night as lava flows in to the Pacific off the coast of Hawaii. NOTE: A one stop soft GND filter was applied to the left and right of the lava to bring out some of the shadows that were visible at night; even though they are not pronounced they do add to the awe of the lava flow that we saw that evening.

It is a 5 second exposure that highlights the interaction of the motion of the billowing smoke, crashing waves and flowing lava. NOTE: A one stop soft GND filter was applied to darken the above the horizon portion of the photograph, slight contrast adjustments were made.
